KIDS AGES 12–18 AT TIME OF 1ST CLASS
There is a $225 application fee, but it is free with Essay. Please send the scholarship application; see below for details.
--We will divide this workshop into 5 distinct meetings, one of which will be a weekend camp, commencing in September 2025 and continuing until December 2025. Our goal is to teach 12- to 18-year-olds about photography. We will have 5 photography-themed meetings with class-time beginners. During the first part of each meeting, advanced students will go out and start shooting after a shot assignment for the day, with Q&A, instructions, and reviewing images from last month’s assignment. Classes’ assignment. Classes’ assignment. Classes are open to kids from all surrounding counties. Classes are held at the Welder Wildlife Refuge.

All classes will teach students the basics, fundamentals, editing, and composition of photography.
Scholarship application
To apply for the scholarship, have your son or daughter write a short essay with the following information:
Pay the $225 application fee. (Email me your essay for your $225 discount code.)
Write a short essay about themselves.
a short part about why they want to do photography and what it would mean to them to get a scholarship.

Class schedule
There will be a photography class and then practical experience in the outdoors.
Following a lesson on aperture and how to use it effectively, there will be hands-on practice.
Following a lesson on shutter speed and ISO, there will be hands-on practice.
Ranch field trip at the Rob & Bessie Welder Wildlife Refuge. The refuge will be set up for photography, and we will have lodging and food.
Arrive at the gate at the date and time.
Class dates are as follows: (subject to change till August 1st)

October 4th 3pm
November 8th, 2pm
Weekend camp will begin December 5th 3pm and depart noon on December 7th
